It’s the holiday season! Here are our team’s top picks for Christmas gifts this year.

It’s that time of year again- the time where everyone struggles to find the perfect gift. To make your holiday shopping a little easier, we asked our agents what their favorites gifts to give are this year.

Experiences

Sweaters go out of style and toys get outgrown, but having fun together will make a lasting impact.

State park pass. Encourage someone to get outdoors this year with a state park pass! This gift is perfect for adventure lovers, photographers, and even families. Visit the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks to order a pass online.

Spa day. Know someone who needs to treat themselves? Give them a gift certificate to their favorite local spa! Our favorites include Zoi’A Salon and Spa in Janesville and Thorps Haircut and Color in Madison.

Gardens membership. Giving a membership to your local botanical gardens is a gift that keeps on giving! Many gardens are part of the American Horticultural Society, so memberships are reciprocal with gardens all over the country. Memberships often include classes, events, and discounts in addition to entrance to the gardens. We recommend the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville and Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison.

Concert tickets. With so many amazing venues in the area such as the Sylvee, the Fireside, or the Overture Center, you can’t go wrong with buying someone concert or musical tickets! If you don’t know their schedule very well, we recommend purchasing a gift card and providing a schedule of upcoming concert dates.

Travel. Most people have that one trip that they’ve been putting off. Give your family and friend that little push by helping them with the travel costs! This could include gift cards to a hotel, restaurant, or even an airline.

Museum pass. Perfect for families with little ones! Gift certificates to places such as the Madison Children’s Museum will inspire kids and adults to make time for some fun.

Gifts They’ll Actually Use

No more candles and coffee mugs! This year, give people gifts that will get used over and over again.

Home cocktail kit. This doubles as a great date night idea! Pair with a bottle of their favorite liquor for a complete gift. Many kits can be found on Amazon, but we recommend visiting local stores such as Madison Modern Market for a wider variety of bar tools and accessories.

Waterproof speakers. Perfect for showers, pool parties, hiking, and more! Our favorite travel-sized speaker is the Charge 2 from JBL.

Eco-friendly kitchen supplies. Beeswax wrap, stainless steel straws, reusable ziplock bags…the possibilities are endless. this is great for that nature lover in your life. Many items can be found on sites like Earth Easy or Amazon.

Smart bulbs and outlets. Give the ultimate gift- the ability to turn off a light without leaving your couch. Some are voice activated and pair with a Google Home while others can be used from an app on your phone.

Fresh roasted coffee beans. Everyone loves coffee, but now they can enjoy quality coffee that they probably never treat themselves to. Our favorite local shops are the Bodacious Brew in Janesville, Blue Collar Coffee Co in Beloit, and Ancora in Madison

Magazine or service subscription. A fun gift that can be customized to anyone is a magazine subscription, such as Sports Illustrated or Better Homes & Gardens. Not a fan of magazines? Consider gifting a year’s subscription to Netflix, Spotify, or Amazon Prime

Infused olive oils. Quality olive oils are yet another thing that most people forget to treat themselves to. For a local selection, we recommend heading to the Bodacious Olive in Janesville, WI or Vom Fass in Madison, WI.
